Legislative Day/Hill Day

In January, the president, president-elect, key contacts, and optionally the AE go to Olympia for an agenda of lobbying and advocacy: Legislative Days 2024.

It should be announced a month beforehand with an invitation to register, though few members will go.

Officers and key contacts have their travel covered by the association. Others who register can get the same package rate. The AE makes reservations for all, and the association will invoice travelers afterward for air travel and lodging.

The AE makes hotel reservations on the association’s credit card. Specifically request to prepay for all expenses including incidentals – the hotel will likely send a form to be signed in advance. This keeps travelers from having to put down their personal credit card when registering.

Airline travel can be arranged by World Wide Travel Services. They cost the same as Travelocity but know what they’re doing! You will need to provide full legal name and birthday for each traveler. They will bill the association’s credit card in a single transaction, and all travelers will have the same airline confirmation number.

Car rental can be pre-arranged but not prepaid; one of the trevelers will need to pay for the car rental and be reimbursed. (If the AE is traveling, they can simply use the association credit card.)
