How to transfer a call in 8×8 VCC
If on a call and you need to send caller to a QUEUE:
- Let caller know you are going to initiate the transfer (of course)
- No need to put caller ‘on hold’ first
- In the Directory on the right side of VCC locate the desired queue (such as accounting) and just click the queue extension (7810)
- That will initiate a warm transfer process where you hear the call ring over, hear someone pick up, and during your conversation with that accounting rep you will see the buttons you are expecting to transfer or merge calls)
If you are on a call and want to transfer to a specific USER:
- Let caller know you are going to initiate transfer
- No need to put caller ‘on hold’ first
- In the Directory on the right side of VCC locate the desired person (say Mark Krepela for example) – click the PUBLIC # for that person (for me it is the link showing 4258254311)
- Clicking that link initiates the warm transfer process, once that person picks up and you are talking to them you’ll see the expected buttons to transfer or merge.
